El torneo Jackpot Halibut Tournament

Seward es uno de los principales sitios en Alaska para la pesca de grandes halibut. Es común capturar peces de entre cincuenta y ochenta libras. Los más grandes pesan entre 200 y 300 libras. Se otorgan premios de $875 en dinero efectivo a tres ganadores por semana durante las 14 semanas que dura el torneo. Los premios otorgados se basan en pesos meta aleatorios que van de las 60 a las 120 libras. El ganador del gran premio se determina al final del torneo. También hay premios especiales, tagged fish, premios comerciales y más. El torneo Jackpot Halibut Tournament va de mayo a julio.
